Allison Hesberg Nutrition – FAQ
My Approach
You, me, and your body are a team. I treat each member of the team with equal respect. That means I don’t recommend dramatic interventions meant to force your body into submission. If you or your body says “no” to something, I listen.
My approach is:
Gently supportive
Data-informed but body-respecting
Focused on sustainable, compassionate change
This approach requires:
Patience
Respect
The ability to hold both self-acceptance and a desire for growth simultaneously
What kinds of concerns do you support?
Clients work with me for:
Pregnancy loss, grief, and hormonal shifts
Cycle and fertility support
Chronic stress, burnout, and digestive issues
Disordered eating and emotional nourishment
Nutrition guidance during major life transitions

Where do sessions take place?
All sessions are virtual and conducted securely via Google Meet or a HIPAA-compliant platform. A link will be sent 24 hours prior. You do not need a Gmail account.
What should I prepare before my first session?
You’ll receive a digital intake packet to complete at least 24 hours before our session. If available, you’re encouraged to share lab results (I recommend which ones), or a brief health history—but none are required to begin.
Payment
Initial Session (75 min): in-depth first session where we explore your health history, goals, symptoms, and lived experiences — laying the foundation for an integrative plan
Follow-Up (45 min): held biweekly (or as needed). These provide a space to review progress, adjust your nutrition plan, and support harmony of your well being through every life phase.
If you need more or less time, please discuss with me in advance so I can adjust the schedule.
I currently do not accept insurance, but can provide superbills for possible out-of-network reimbursement. I also accept HSA/FSA cards and offer limited sliding scale spots—let’s talk if cost is a barrier.
Payment is due 24 hours prior to the session.
Returned checks are subject to a $45 fee.
Cancellation Policy
To respect the time we reserve for your care, sessions canceled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged in full. Late arrivals may shorten your session time.
Can I use my HSA/FSA card?
Yes. I accept most HSA and FSA cards. Please confirm with your provider that nutrition counseling is an eligible expense.
Can I submit to insurance for reimbursement?
I can provide a superbill upon request. You may be eligible for out-of-network reimbursement for medical nutrition therapy (MNT). Please check with your insurance carrier.
Is my information secure?
Yes. I use HIPAA-compliant platforms including SimplePractice and G Suite with a signed BAA for secure communication, documentation, and telehealth.
